Walking into Shanghai Disneyland honestly feels like stepping into a real-life fairytale and fun fact: it’s the largest Disneyland in the world! From the breathtaking Enchanted Storybook Castle (the tallest Disney castle ever built) to the insane TRON Lightcycle Power Run that makes you feel like you’re inside a sci-fi movie, everything here is bigger, bolder, and next-level immersive.
But what makes it extra special is how it blends classic Disney magic with unique Chinese elements you won’t see anywhere else. Whether you’re here for the thrill rides, the parades, or just that magical Disney feeling, this park is truly an unforgettable experience.
Best Time to Visit Shanghai Disneyland
Best day: Tuesday to Thursday when it less crowd
One of the best ways to enjoy your day at Shanghai Disneyland is to arrive early. The park opens its gates at 8:30 AM, and getting there ahead of the crowd allows you to explore without the long queues that typically build up before lunchtime. Trust me, this makes a world of difference! ⏰
When you arrive, remember to bring your passport, as it will be scanned for entry. Also, be aware that tripods and selfie sticks are not permitted inside the park. If you have a tripod, you’ll need to store it in a locker, which costs RMB 10.
How to get to Shanghai Disneyland
Getting to Shanghai Disneyland is convenient thanks to the city’s efficient public transportation system. Simply take Shanghai Metro Line 11 (the maroon red line) directly to Disney Resort Station. The fare is quite affordable, typically no more than RMB 10 depending on your starting point.
Where to Buy Shanghai Disneyland Ticket
It is highly recommended to book your ticket in advance because it can take almost an hour to queue for purchasing a ticket at the ticket office, and even more time to queue to enter the park.
We booked our tickets from Trip.com, and all you need to do is show the QR code to the officer, and you’re good to go. Check out the price and schedule here

Shanghai Disneyland's Closing Ceremony
eAs the sun sets, make sure to stick around for the magical fireworks show that starts at 9:15 PM. It’s the perfect way to cap off your day at the park, with a dazzling display lighting up the night sky.
Where to Stay in Shanghai Disneyland
Shanghai Disneyland Park is huge, and like other Disney parks, sometimes one day isn’t enough to explore the entire park. If you’re traveling with family, it’s recommended to stay near the theme park. Here are some places to stay around Shanghai Disneyland:
