Our Story

We’re Nessa and Linardo, two people who share a dream of traveling the world. What began as a friendship in 2018 unexpectedly turned into something much more—a partnership in life and travel. From casual trips around Taiwan to becoming full-time travel vloggers, our journey has been full of challenges, excitement, and incredible adventures.

This is the story of how we transformed our passion for travel into a lifestyle, and how we’re excited to share our journey with you as we work towards our goal of visiting 100 countries by 2030.

About Me (Nessa)

As you can probably guess from the name of our blog and social accounts, ‘Nessahuangg,’ I’m the one who started creating travel content in 2021, focusing exclusively on TikTok. What began as a hobby quickly gained traction within the English-speaking community in Taiwan, and I started getting some recognition.

I had always dreamed of traveling the world. At the time, I was working as a Project Manager at a Marketing Agency in Taipei, and being tied to a company made traveling seem impossible. But I also knew that quitting my full-time job meant losing a stable income, which was scary. Still, the idea of becoming a full-time travel creator started to take root in my mind.

In March 2023, I took the leap and quit my job. My plan was to find remote freelance marketing projects to cover my rent and living expenses in Taipei while also growing my social media presence and eventually monetizing it.

That year was one of the hardest of my life. I juggled multiple projects, working more than 12 hours a day, 7 days a week. It was such a whirlwind of stress and pressure, but I felt more alive than ever. Yes, I was probably the most broke among my friends, but as long as I managed to get through each month and my social media kept growing, I was fine.

About Linardo.

Linardo always dreamed of a job that would allow him to travel. When he was younger, he told his mom about his aspirations to attend language schools in different countries, learn the local languages, and truly immerse himself in different cultures. However, his mom insisted he focus on getting a degree, which led him to put his dreams on hold.

One funny yet touching story from Linardo’s childhood illustrates this longing. When he was 13 years old, he and his sisters were invited by their uncle to go on a holiday to Singapore. Unfortunately, because it was an impromptu trip and Linardo didn’t have a passport, he had to stay behind while his sisters went without him. Heartbroken, he cried so much that his mom came to comfort him. Through his tears, he told his mom that all he wished is to experience staying in a hotel—something he had never done before. This heartfelt moment perfectly captured his passion for adventure and exploration.

Eventually, he found himself in Taiwan, studying Computer Science at Chung Hsing University in Taichung. Balancing his studies with supporting himself meant that his dream of becoming a traveler remained on hold, but the spark of wanderlust continued to ignite his passion for exploring the world.

That’s when we both agreed: we’re in this together.

Now…

Fast forward to today, October 2024. We’ve successfully monetized our channels and now earn enough to support our travels and living expenses. Since that big trip, we’ve traveled even more, visiting Japan, South Korea, Singapore, China, and Indonesia. Traveling has become our lifestyle.

What's next?

Our journey is far from over. With every new destination, we’re learning, growing, and sharing our experiences with the world. From capturing hidden gems to collaborating with amazing brands, we’re committed to creating content that inspires fellow travelers to explore beyond their comfort zones.

We’re excited for what the future holds and are working hard to reach our goal of visiting 100 countries by 2030. But more than that, we hope to continue building a community of adventurers who share our passion for travel and discovery.
