First things to do in when you arrive in Hong Kong:

*Get a Sim Card for Connectivity

First and foremost, ensure you have access to reliable communication during your stay.

You can easily purchase a local SIM card at the 711 in Hong Kong International Airport, providing you with data and a local phone number.

Alternatively, if you prefer the convenience of eSim, consider using Airalo to seamlessly activate your digital SIM card without the need for physical replacements.

*Acquire an Octopus Card for Seamless Travel

The Octopus Card is a traveler’s best friend in Hong Kong. Available at the Hong Kong International Airport, this smart card simplifies your journey in the city in more ways than one:

    • Public Transportation: The Octopus Card allows you to access all public transportation options in Hong Kong, including buses, trams, the MTR subway system, and even the Star Ferry.

With an Octopus Card in hand, you’ll navigate Hong Kong effortlessly.

To reach the heart of Hong Kong from the airport swiftly and comfortably, consider taking the Hong Kong Airport Express train.

This efficient mode of transportation whisks you to Hong Kong Station in just 24 minutes. You can purchase your Airport Express train ticket online here for HK$ 83.

Alternatively, if you’ve already obtained an Octopus Card, you can use it for a convenient fare payment of HK$ 110.

Here are some hotel recommendations for you to consider in Hong Kong. Linardo and I have stayed at each of them during our time there, and we believe they all possess unique characteristics. Each hotel is cozy and perfect for a comfortable stay.

If you’d like, I can provide more details about what makes each one special!

*Hotel at HongKong Island:

Ibis Central: Budget friendly hotel with a really good location. It’s walking distance to HongKong Macau Ferry port. You should stay here for your day trip to Macau.

In my opinion, this is the most luxurious and artistic mall I have ever been to in my life.

K11 Musea Hong Kong
*Avenue of Stars

Kowloon is known for its stunning skyline. Your first stop should be Avenue of Stars by the side of Victoria Harbour. Take a leisurely walk here and enjoy the dazzling view of Hong Kong Skyline. By the way it’s free to come here.

But here are some museum that you don’t want to miss when you’re in Hong Kong:

*M+ Museum

First you must go to M+ museum, here you can discovered the fascinating world of contemporary art. It’s easy to spend more than 2 hours just in this museum alone. Plus the museum has an amazing garden.

There are various event in this museum and when I visited here, there are 2 ongoing events: Madame Song: Pioneering Art and Fashion in China and Yayoi Kusama: Dots Obsession—Aspiring to Heaven’s Love.

You have two convenient options for purchasing your ticket. You can either make an on-the-spot purchase or, for a hassle-free experience without waiting in line, you can also secure your ticket online through Klook.

Day 4: Day trip to Macau, the “Las Vegas of Asia”

Macau, oh Macau! This luxurious land of grand hotels and casinos is just a ferry ride away from Hong Kong. It costs around HK$ 200 and takes about an hour to get there.

You can choose between TurboJet or Cotai Jet.

Macau is divided into 2 main areas: Macau and Taipa.

You can start your trip in Macau Island. Some places to visit are:

*Ruins of St. Paul: Macau’s historical Landmark.

It’s really nice to take pictures here, hopefully it won’t be as crowded as the day that I went there.

*Senado Square: Popular Old Street in Macau.

Just right in front of the Ruins of St. Paul you’ll find a very busy shopping district. You have you try the Portuguese tart from Koh Kei Bakery here.

The other area is Taipa.

Taipa is famous for it’s luxurious hotels and casinos. Some places to visit there are:

*Cotai Street

I highly recommend visiting all the hotels in that area as their architecture is truly remarkable. Additionally, each hotel has its own shopping mall.

During my visit, I had the opportunity to explore all the hotels, and if I may suggest the top three to stay at or simply visit, here they are:

*Wynn Palace

They offer a complimentary gondola ride daily and a spectacular water show every 30 minutes.

*The Londoner

Prepare to be amazed by the hotel’s design and lobby. They’ve even recreated Big Ben, which left me in awe.

Plus, it’s connected by a skybridge to The Parisian and The Venetian hotel.

*Galaxy Macau

This hotel is a golden masterpiece, with its exterior resembling a golden building.

Day 5: Theme Park Day

There are 2 big theme parks in Hong Kong. You can choose one to visit either one or both according to your own preference.

*Magical Day at Hong Kong Disneyland

No trip to Hong Kong is complete without a visit to the enchanting Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Explore additional tips and valuable insights to make the most of your time at Hong Kong Disneyland here.

I suggest to pre-buy your tickets here to avoid long queues or uncertain availability.

By the way, they will have a brand World of Frozen coming in November 20th. Any Frozen loverz here?

To reach the Big Buddha, hop on the Ngong Ping 360 cable car from just outside the MTR station and enjoy panoramic island views.

Day 7: Shopping Day

At the last day of your trip, of course go shopping is the only right answer.

*MongKok Area

One of the prime destinations to explore is the Mong Kok district, renowned for its local stores and vibrant markets.

Among its famous markets is the Ladies Market, where numerous vendors offer clothing, accessories, souvenirs, and delectable street food.

Additionally, within Mong Kok, if you’re a flower enthusiast, the Flower Market is a must-visit. It’s a haven for colorful and exquisite flowers, satisfying your love for floral beauty.
