Bangkok is home to countless malls, so I’ll focus on three exceptional ones that truly highlight my journey there. These shopping destinations aren’t just malls—they’re unique experiences that deserve a spot on your list of must-see places to visit in Bangkok.

1. ICONSIAM

🚄 Charoen Nakhon Station

ICONSIAM is one of the largest and most luxurious malls in the world, offering shopping, dining, and entertainment along the Chao Phraya River. It’s easily one of the must-visit places in Bangkok.

While visiting, don’t miss SOOK Siam, an indoor floating market-style food zone with beautiful Thai-inspired designs and a huge variety of local food and restaurants. On the upper floor, you can also visit Thailand’s largest Starbucks Reserve, featuring a stunning indoor waterfall.

Another popular experience at ICONSIAM is the Chao Phraya Princess Dinner Cruise. Starting from around THB750, this two-hour river cruise offers beautiful night views of landmarks like Temple of the Emerald Buddha and Grand Palace while enjoying an international buffet onboard.

It’s located in the heart of the Siam shopping district and is considered one of the largest shopping malls in Thailand — and even one of the biggest in the world. The mall has more than 500 stores, hundreds of restaurants, entertainment zones, cinemas, and event spaces.

This place is known for it’s street food and affordable shopping district. There are some Michelin Guide restaurant here, one of our recommendation is Nai Ek Roll Noodle.

🚄 Phra Ram 9 MRT Station

Jodd Fairs is the most famous night market in Bangkok. There are more than 200 vendors that sells everything from food, drink, clothes, even Cannabis. you can spend hours here just to enjoy the vibes and the foods.

The must try food here is the Spicy Volcano Pork Ribs or locals called “Leng Saab”. Which is the backbone of the pig, pork ribs that cook with spicy and sour soup. One of the must try dish when you are in Thailand.

3. Asiatique

🚄 Saphan Taksin BTS Station

Asiatique The Riverfront is a popular shopping and entertainment complex and one of the must-visit places to visit in Bangkok. Located along the Chao Phraya River, it offers scenic views of the water and the city skyline.

The vibrant night market is perfect for an evening with friends or family, where you can ride the Ferris wheel and enjoy a leisurely stroll under the lights. To get there, take the BTS Silom Line (Green Line) to Saphan Taksin Station. Just outside the station, you’ll find a ferry port with a free shuttle boat that takes you directly to Asiatique.

1. Khaosan Road

Khao San Road, situated in the heart of Bangkok, isn’t just any street—it’s a vibrant hub that’s earned its reputation as the ultimate destination for backpackers and global travelers.

This iconic road is a melting pot of cultures, offering an exciting mix of budget-friendly accommodations, delectable street food, lively bars selling ‘laughing gas,’ and ‘highland’ cafes where you can smoke weed.

Renowned for its weed availability, this street night market thrives in Thailand’s legal weed culture. Nothing is normal at Khao San Road, you’ll see insects and crocodile meat being sold in a stick.

Historic and Aesthetic Landmark in Bangkok

1. The Grand Palace

Established in 1782, The Grand Palace complex isn’t just home to royal and throne halls but also hosts several government offices alongside the famous Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

This architectural beautifully blends traditional Thai, European, and Khmer styles, showcasing intricate details, vibrant colors, and majestic structures like the Wat Phra Kaew (Temple of the Emerald Buddha).

There’s a strict dress code to enter the Palace; both men and women must cover their legs and arms, meaning no sleeveless shirts or short pants or skirts are permitted. However, if you find yourself inappropriately dressed, there are shops conveniently located in front of the palace selling the famous elephant pants to meet the dress code requirements.

🎫 Ticket price: 500 baht for Foreigners. Inclusive of access to Wat Phra Kaew and Queen Sirikit Museum of Textile, which are located within The Grand Palace compounds.

2. Wat Arun

Wat Arun, also known as the Temple of Dawn, is one of the most famous landmarks in Bangkok. It sits right along the Chao Phraya River and is especially beautiful during sunrise and sunset, when the temple’s porcelain-covered towers reflect the light.

The temple is known for its tall central prang (Khmer-style tower), which is decorated with colorful ceramic tiles and seashells. You can climb part of the tower for a great view of the river and Bangkok skyline.
